Who is Nicole Elaine Avery?
Artist Extraordinaire
Dr. Avery graduated in 2017 with her doctorate from Columbia University's Teachers College in New York City with an education doctorate in Art & Art Ed. She has taught pre-school through college in a variety of subjects including English Composition, dance, ELA, ELL, math, science, social science, physical education and visual arts. A veteran in the field, Dr. Avery continues her educational journey as a professional consultant in the field.
International Award Winning Author
Following a reduction-in-force with LAUSD in Wilmington, California Dr. Avery began coining her very first novel based loosely on her zany experiences as a baseball vendor. The Bronx tale follows Nyla, a foster-kid, who navigates through love, loss, and life. As she attempts to escape her abusive foster home by becoming a professional baseball vendor in her local Bronx community, she becomes engulfed in a world of corruption, unbidden sex, and murder. It is a page turner for sure. It is the first edition of a trilogy entitled The Bronx Drama Series.
Fashion Designer
During a break from teaching, Dr. Avery embarked on a costume design degree with the Academy of Art University... graduating in 2022.She is currently completing her fashion degree and will be presenting her clothing line in Fall 2025. Be sure to check back for updates.

From dance to acting, Dr. Avery has graced both stage and film. As a member of SAG-AFTRA/AEA she's fighting her way past background work to being front and center of the camera! She is also an aspiring model with a focus in print, but is runway ready!
